The X-Files Parody

In early 1997, I was working at WXTX Fox 54 in Columbus, GA.  In February, I collaborated with fellow producer Mike Kirk on this spot.  I happen to have a starring role in this one as "Agent Sculder".    Our challenge was to do something creative and yet still somehow use some generic product shots that another station had shot for the client already.  That footage makes a cameo appearance on a computer monitor, we added the time code window ourselves.

The dark trenchcoat I'm wearing is actually blue and absolutely did not fit me.  It was a children's size and the sleeves barely covered my elbows.  I bought it earlier in the day for $4 at a thrift store.  In the shot depicted in the second screen capture above, I'm actually having to do a deep-knee bend to stay in the frame and keep the shot composed the way we wanted it.

I have two versions of the commercial available for download.  I prefer you watch the first one as it  is of better quality, but the file size clocks in at over 5MB.  If you are using a phone line, I recommend clicking on the smaller Windows Media file.
