SANTA FE DAY SPA

I have been producing the television spots for this client since 1999.  In fact, this is the sister business for Savage Tan.   I produced this spot in February of 2005 just after they had moved into a brand new facility.  I felt like the spot needed a radically different look to go along with the new location and new image of the store.  So I spent about three hours just messing around in PhotoShop trying to come up with a unique graphic design for the spot.  I took my cue from a print ad that the client requested be worked into the spot. 

You'll see this ad, it is the opening shot of the commercial.  I noticed that this ad used multiple images and had a subtle leopard print pattern in the background.  Taking my cue from those elements, I came up with the look of the spot.  I created the multiple video layers, including the rotating leopard print, in Adobe After Effects.  By intentionally overlapping graphics, I ended up with a look that both the client and I were very pleased with.   The multiple images on the screen served another purpose.  I got to the edit suite and realized  1) I had a LOT of footage 2)the client wanted it all in there and 3) I felt that a Day Spa spot really needed to have a relaxed pace to it.   Mission accomplished.  I hope you like it.
