JAKE'S PIT BBQ

This one was very easy.  The star of this spot is a friend of mine, former co-worker Russ Gann.  For an earlier JAKE’S spot, Russ had made a cameo eating a sandwich.  It was a rather generic spot and this time around the agent wanted more of a concept.  After learning that people were recognizing Russ on the street as being “that Jake’s guy”, we decided to build the spot around him.  The idea came to me very quickly of him dreaming of Jake's, waking up and going straight there. Within moments I had the entire spot already shot and cut together in my head.   Rarely does it hit me that clearly and completely.  After that, it was just a matter of realizing my vision to the screen.  And for his troubles, Russ gets to eat at Jake’s free for a year.

Trivia: Note the time on the alarm clock.  It reads 1:22am.  This is a reference to my birthdate, January 22nd.
