THE HOCKEY PROMO

In 1996, Fox found itself televising the Stanley Cup, The World Series and the Super Bowl (in January of 97).  So at our station, we did  a series of sports promotion featuring our "Sports Guy".  The first was a generic sports image spot, the second was a Super Bowl promotion and the third was this one promoting our Stanley Cup giveaway.

You may notice a continuity error with our Sports Guy's facial hair and you may notice that this piece runs longer than 30 seconds.  What I've done for the website is simply cut together the longer opening from the first spot with the bulk of the hockey promo, leaving off the sponsor tag that came up at the very end.

We had a lot of fun taking the chair and everything out onto the ice and our poor guy had to just get beat up by the star player of the Columbus Cottonmouths, Jerome Bechard.  We shot this immediately following a Cottonmouths practice and the one thing I remember is how bad Bechard stunk.  After shaking hands with him, my hand smelled like a gym sock.
