From David Wright:
Batman & Captain America One-Shot
(1996)
The much-anticipated JLA/AVENGERS crossover is just a couple of months away and we can't wait. Even though it's been too long since this Featured Cover page was updated, I'm continuing the JLA/AVENGERS theme from last time. This month's Cover is from the 1996 one-shot by John Byrne. It's a quirky tale in terms of continuity. It's set in 1945, and when we first see Captain America, he's fighting with Sgt. Rock and Easy Company in Europe. When he meets up with Batman, they already know each other. The action ends up with Batman and Bucky paired together and Cap and Robin together. There's an epilogue set 20 years later that is essentially the lead-in to the first GENERATIONS limited series by Byrne.
John Byrne (cover artist, writer, penciler, inker and letterer), Patricia Mulvilhill (colorist), Jamison (color seperator), Roger Stern (special thanks).
