BIKE LINK
This spot was a lot of fun to produce. I had done several spots for this client up to this point but about all I had done was go to the store and pan the showroom floor. I felt like with an exciting product such as this we needed to get out of the store and show some action. Show some people cycling! Well, the client agreed and the next thing you know, I'm kneeling in the bed of a pick-up trying to keep the tripod steady while we drive up a windy hill in the wrong lane! I should know by now to be careful what I ask for, but -- hey -- anything for the shot, right?
I was pleased with the way this one turned out. We needed to intercut between the competitive road bikers and the more leisurely mountain bikers, so I decided to put in a music change to help separate them. The first cut didn't work too well, the music change was too jarring. Instead of dropping the change, I added the quick "swish pan" with the logo on top to help with the transition. That did the trick and the client ended up loving the spot. Enjoy!
