AMERICAN CLASSIC CYCLES

I produced this spot in January of 2004 and as you might imagine with bikes like this, I had a lot of fun doing it.  I went to the store's location in the morning to knock out the basic cover footage of the showroom and service shop.  Then around the middle of the day, the riders showed up.  We had maybe a half a dozen guys all on their monster bikes.  I grabbed the camera and jumped in the passenger seat of the production van and then we all got on I-65.  The bikers took up both lanes behind the van and slowed down to block traffic on the interstate.  Then, with me shooting out the passenger window, the bikers passed us one at a time, pausing briefly for the camera before zooming off!  We turned lots of heads!

When I got back to the store, they had moved all the bikes from the showroom to the outside and had a crane waiting for me.  So again I put the camera on my shoulder and climbed into this bucket dangling from the end of the crane in order to get the angle we needed looking down at all the bikes.  The shot is only in the commercial for a second or two, but it was worth it.  I think.
